Inspired by Edith Cowan’s belief in progress through action, the campaign centres on the idea that going further is rarely a straight line. Its hero film builds on a script that repeatedly returns to “Go”, moving through moments of ambition, doubt, reflection, discomfort, changing course and starting again.

VERSUS were brought into the project early to help shape the visual narrative and develop a way of connecting its many different scenes and ideas. Rather than forcing those moments into one consistent look, VERSUS let the filmmaking change with the thought, shifting between techniques and formats while using movement and transitions to carry the film from one world to the next.

Filmed across Perth with a local production crew, the campaign brings ECU students and alumni together with figures from Western Australia’s creative community, including Yindjibarndi artist and ECU alumna Katie West, musicians Mali Jo$e and Arno Faraji, and TikTok creator Ethan French. Rather than appearing as standalone cameos, they are folded into the world of the film alongside students and performers, giving the campaign a cultural specificity beyond the familiar university portrait.
