CORIN

Corin Ileto(she/her) is a Filipina-Australian electronic producer, performer and composer. Coming from a background in classical piano, Ileto is known for creating trance-like melodies, immersive sound design and cinematic soundscapes drawing from science fiction, classical music and post-human themes. In her music traditional forms merge with hyper-digital sounds to create new imaginary realms.

Over the past decade, Ileto has presented music under her solo electronic project ‘CORIN’, releasing multiple albums to accolades including nominations for the Australian Music Prize,‘Best Electronic Act’ &‘Best Avant Garde Act’ at The Age Music Victoria Awards. In 2023 she released her sophomore album ‘Lux Aeterna’ which encompassed a full length recording alongside a live performance that toured internationally. Based in Sydney, Ileto is forerunner in the experimental electronic music scene having performed locally at Dark Mofo, Now or Never, an internationally at Berlin Atonal and Unfold(Seoul).

In tandem, composition for dance, film, video, theatre and gallery contexts has become a parallel arc of her practice, with commissions presented at major institutions including Arts House, MCA, Art Gallery of NSW, Carriageworks and the Sydney Opera House. She has created sonic branding for the Sydney Opera House, Australia Council for the Arts and New Annual Festival (Newcastle) and through her experience collaborating with a diverse community of cultural practitioners such as Marrugeku she understands the nuances and complexities of diverse cultural material, creating compositions that draw from ancestral stories but reimagined in future forms.
