DYSLEXIA
The Anti Commencement Speech is a campaign film created for the University of Dyslexic Thinking as part of the global Made By Dyslexia initiative. The work reframes dyslexic cognition through a visual language grounded in lived experience, challenging conventional narratives of deficit and limitation.
Developed in close collaboration with agency and client teams, the film’s narrative and form are shaped through metaphor and perception. Using Gaussian splatting and spatial tracking technologies, the work traces, distorts, and reconstructs space to mirror non-linear cognitive processes. These techniques are deployed not as spectacle, but as a means of translating alternative modes of thinking into cinematic structure.
Rather than illustrating dyslexia as deficit, the work translates alternative modes of processing into dynamic cinematic form, pacing visuals and movement in ways that mirror the subject matter while remaining clear and engaging across broadcast and digital platforms.
The campaign launched at a global event in New York alongside Richard Branson, and was subsequently nominated across major international creative awards, including Cannes Lions, as part of the wider University of Dyslexic Thinking campaign.
